Graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and English, and earned a Master’s Degree from San Jose State University in Administration and Secondary Education.

Has been associated with public education since 1970, with most years spent in the classroom as a teacher in English.  

Administrative experience includes one year as English Department Head, three years as Vice-Principal, and three years as Athletic Director.  Also, over 35 years of coaching experience at James Lick High School in San Jose (8 years - football, soccer, and tennis), Truckee High School (5 years – football and C.I.F. Championship in tennis), two years at Eastern Oregon State College (football) , and since 1986 at Lompoc High School.  Thirty years’ experience with Lompoc Unified School District (most at Lompoc High School), including classroom experience in English, Health and E.L.D. (English Language Development), administrative experience for three years as Athletic Director, and over 20 years as a coach (football and track), including being Head Football Coach for the first C.I.F. Championship football team in Lompoc High’s history (1990).

Served as school liaison for a boy’s group home in Lompoc for two years; working with different schools in the L.U.S.D.

Currently serving as Head Freshman Football Coach at Lompoc High School.

 

  • As a student of Cal Poly, was elected Student Body Vice-President, and served as Chair of the Student Council.

  • Selected as State Coach of-the-year in the state of Nevada (AA) for Truckee High School Football in 1982.

  • Selected as C.I.F. Southern Section Coach-of-the-year (Div. VII) at Lompoc High School in 1990.

  • Awarded Crystal Apple Award winner in 1997 as Santa Barbara County’s Outstanding Secondary Teacher.

 

Continues to be very active in community affairs. 

  • Served as Board Chair multiple years as the Lompoc Family YMCA Board Chair

  • Served as M.C. for Lompoc’s Relay for Life

  • Volunteers at church for various committees, was an elder (church governing body) for many years. 

  • Currently serving as Youth Elder at church
